I find that with animes, I always fall in love with the protagonist when they're stubborn, powerful... well, basically from shows like these:
InuYasha - well... InuYasha of course
Samurai Champloo - Mugen! I loved him
Brave 10 - it's fairly new, but I like Siazo... kinda reminds me of Sasuke from Naruto
Bleach - Ichigo
Vampire Knight - Zero
Yea, those are kind off the top of my head. Anyways, I'm looking for more anime with action/ fighting in addition to some form of romance. I'm not
