Can Anime Death Note Be Considered Canonical?

I see a lot of changes in the anime but no one seems to complain about it (albeit if its just a filler add,which still opposes the manga) .For instance,the rain scene in episode 25.I hope we can take it as canon and attribute it to L and Light's character even if it isn't exactly what happened in the manga.I think that Ohba did acquiesce some minor scene in the anime as long as it isn't directly contradicts his manga
