The character is in the Sailor Moon manga vol. 1 and Shugo Chara vol. 1 (if you have Jap version it's on page 107 in sailor moon where Usagi is being carried away by the bus and Mamo-chan catches Luna) And in Shugo Chara it's around page ten.)
It looks like "te" (hiragana) with "so" (katakana) or "n" (katakana) on top of the "te" linking them vertically with a small mark on the top left between the horizontal and vertical lines.
