Is There A Way To Download Videos From A Video Site Without An Flv Downloader?

Okay. So. I downloaded the flv codec for windows media player and it works great. So now i wanna get rid of realplayer. However, i use the included flv downloader quite often. So i was wondering if there was a way to download a video from a website without an flv downloader? I tried going on animefreak.tv and playing a megavideo video, then finding the url in the source code and downloading the file from that url. But all that gave me was the initial button-click-followed-by-ad in a swf. Is
