Is It Not A Good Idea To Try To Stay Friends With Someone Because They Don't Have Friends Besides You?

I've noticed that I've been picking up a lot of new friends lately, some good ones, and some that have a few problems tagged along. I get extremely annoyed when my original friends (the really close ones that I've grown up with) say they don't like certain people, and these are usually the ones that I try to be nice to. One of these lonely friends has a reading problem, and a few social problems (just says some immature things), and my friends pick up on this and exclude them. I feel bad
