Question About The Manga Ame Nochi Hare...?

I recently started reading this manga where the boys turn into girls when it rains. So I was wondering if all of them (their whole body) turned into a girl. I'm asking this because one of the characters says "If someone did catch a glimpse of it, they'd be in for a shock to see a guys one instead." Did this get lost in translation or are they girls with male parts? Sorry for the weird
