Easiest Way To Make A Minecraft Server?

When I got to the part where your suppose to forward your port or something to Minecraft, my dad kept telling me that is how we can get hacked. Like that the creator of the video made a phishing video. If that is a bad video to get help from, which videos can I use that will be able to help an amateur like
