i've seen some statistics about the number of visitors of each country on Wikipedia and surprisingly, Japan has had less visitors even than South Korea every-year. and China was by far the most visited.
also last-year was like China : a lot, S.Korea : about 10million, Japan : about 6million.
I heard in general people like Japanese culture a lot like anime/manga then why is Japan so far less visited??? is it because of ongoing Fukushima
