Any Anime With A Kick *** Guy And Girl?

Welp. I've stuck my head into this corner of the interwebs and have become curious. In every anime I seem to find a romance between either (90% of the time) a wimpy guy and a wimpy (confidence wise) girl with some super power. (Yuck :s). Is there an anime that doesn't have these kinds of silly pairings? So basically, an anime with a guy who isn't worthless/helpless and a girl who doesn't spend the entire series trying to hold the damn guys hand. Sorry if I seem annoyed! Pl0x though, if anyone
